The liquid that is used in vaping consists of 4 basic ingredients:
- Propylene glycol – Known as PG in the vape world, this compound has been used for decades in both the pharmaceutical and food industries – it was FDA approved in the early 1970. It is a commonly used drug solubilizer in topical, oral, and injectable medications. It is used as stabilizer for vitamins, and as a water-miscible cosolvent. Propylene glycol is also used as moisturizer in cosmetic products and as a dispersant in fragrances. There are many other food and industrial uses for propylene glycol. PG is what gives you flavor, and thins the ejuice, making those with a higher PG levels (e.g. a 50/50 blend) work better in smaller tanks and vape pens.
- Vegetable glycerin – Known as VG, this compound is what gives you the big clouds. It is naturally sweet, so tends to add sweetness to the juice when used in higher concentrates (such as a 70/30 blend, where 70% of your eliquid is VG, and 30% is PG). Like PG, vegetable glycerin has been used for decades in pharmaceutical products, personal care products, and many other applications. Chances are, you use vegetable glycerin in some product or another every day.
Because PG is so thick and sweet, it also tends to gunk up your coils faster. If you vape heavily, you may want to stick with juices that are closer to a 50/50 blend because of this.
- Flavor
- Nicotine – Measured as either mg of nicotine, or as a percentage. 12mg of nicotine is the same as 1.2% nicotine. We carry juice containing 3mg, 6mg, 12mg, and limited flavors in 18mg. We also carry 0mg in ALL of our flavor choices.
